Is face paint safe for everyone?

Yes! I use only high quality, cosmetic face paint and glitter. However, face paint is not recommended for under 2s. This is because very young children have sensitive skin and reactions are more likely. They are also unlikely to be able to sit still! If your under 2 year-old expresses an interest, I can paint their arm which is likely to be less sensitive than their face.

I am fully vaccinated against Covid-19. have put in place extra hygiene measures and I have undertaken a government approved Infection Control Covid-19 course.

Covid-19

Does it have to be on my face?

No! I can adapt most designs to be on the arm or leg – some children and adults prefer this to the feeling of paint on the face.

Is it hygienic?

As a professional face painter, I follow strict hygiene rules:

  • use a clean sponge for each person

  • wash brushes thoroughly between each face

  • refresh water regularly

  • avoid painting on lips and noses where possible

  • keep work areas clean

  • use hand sanitiser regularly

  • no painting of people who are unwell or have contagious skin conditions

If more people require painting than agreed, or some of your guests are late, and you would like me to stay longer than the expected finish time, the extra time will be charged at $70 per half hour. However, this is only possible if I do not have another booking immediately following yours.

Are you insured?

Yes! I have public liability insurance and a valid working with children check. Please ask me if you need my reference number.

How do I remove face paint?

Massage a mild baby shampoo or facial cleanser into the skin and wipe paint away with a damp washcloth. Be mindful to keep paint and glitter out of eyes. Flush eyes with clean water if contact occurs. If stains remain, rub olive oil, coconut oil or baby oil into the skin and rub gently with a damp washcloth.
