Is face paint safe for everyone?
Yes! I use only high quality, cosmetic face paint and glitter. However, face paint is not recommended for under 2s. This is because very young children have sensitive skin and reactions are more likely. They are also unlikely to be able to sit still! If your under 2 year-old expresses an interest, I can paint their arm which is likely to be less sensitive than their face.
I have put in place extra hygiene measures to protect against Covid-19. I have also undertaken a government approved Infection Control Covid-19 course.
Does it have to be on my face?
No! I can adapt most designs to be on the arm or leg – some children and adults prefer this to the feeling of paint on the face.
Is it hygienic?
As a professional face painter, I follow strict hygiene rules:
use a clean sponge for each person
wash brushes thoroughly between each face
refresh water regularly
avoid painting on lips and noses where possible
keep work areas clean
use hand sanitiser regularly
no painting of people who are unwell or have contagious skin conditions
How do I make a booking?

Do I need to pay a deposit?
A deposit (usually $100 for private parties) is required to secure your booking. Your date is only reserved once I have received your deposit. If you cancel your booking at least 14 days before the event, the deposit will be returned to you. If you cancel your booking within 13 days of the event, the deposit is non-refundable or can be postponed to another date.
How do I pay?
You can pay by cash or bank transfer. Credit card bookings are available on request. The balance of your booking is payable on the day of the event either by cash, or the day before by bank transfer.
What do I need to provide for you?
I will need two chairs and space for my portable workstation (1m x ½ m) in a shaded and sheltered area. If you are unable to provide shade and shelter, I will need to bring and set up a gazebo for an extra charge of $50.
What if more people require face paint than planned?
If more people require painting than agreed and you would like me to stay longer than the expected finish time, the extra time will be charged at $40 per half hour. However, this is only possible if I do not have another booking immediately following yours.
Are you insured?
Yes! I have public liability insurance and a valid working with children check. Please ask me if you need my reference number.
How do I remove face paint?
Massage a mild baby shampoo or facial cleanser into the skin and wipe paint away with a damp washcloth. Be mindful to keep paint and glitter out of eyes. Flush eyes with clean water if contact occurs. If stains remain, rub olive oil, coconut oil or baby oil into the skin and rub gently with a damp washcloth.
General health and safety
I will not paint any child who does not want to be painted. Distressed children will not be painted.
I cannot paint anyone who appears unwell or with medical conditions such as cold sores, psoriasis, open wounds, broken skin, conjunctivitis or other eye infections, runny nose, infected skin, headlice. This is for the health and safety of other people at the party.
